Heywood
Director of Communications & Bobsleigh Programme Manager
Marc Heywood holds the dual role of Director of Communications and Bobsleigh Programme Manager and is now nearing a decade of of involvement with the BBSA.
He joined the organisation in a marketing and communications capacity in 2015, before becoming Director of Operations in September 2017, a role he held until taking up his current post in October 2024.
Prior to moving into winter sports, Marc spent nine years working in professional rugby union, beginning his career as Communications Officer at Leicester Tigers at a time when the Club appeared in six domestic and European finals.
He went on to work in a public relations and journalism capacity for the British & Irish Lions, the Welsh Rugby Union and the organisers of the Heineken Cup and Challenge Cup, as well as regularly writing for the national newspapers at English Premiership, European and Celtic League fixtures.
Having previously worked for the tournament organisers at the 2015 Rugby World Cup and for the British & Irish Lions on their 2013 tour to Australia, Marc was part of the Team GB delegation at the PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games in February 2018.
