Dave
Short
Research, Innovation & Technology Lead
Dave Short joined the BBSA in 2015 and is currently British Skeleton's Research, Innovation and Technology Lead.
Dave's role involves the implementation and delivery of world-leading equipment and technology for the high-performance programme.
He played an important role in the success of the team at the Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang in February 2018 in what was his first Olympic experience and he was again part of the Team GB set up in Beijing in 2022.
Dave is based in Bath at the BBSA headquarters throughout the off season but travels extensively with the team during the winter.
When not at work, he spends much of his spare time outdoors, with a particular interest in trail running, bike riding and rock climbing.
He cites his career highlight as the PyeongChang Olympics thanks to the team's triple medal-winning performance from Lizzy Yarnold, Laura Deas and Dom Parsons and a top-ten finish from Jerry Rice.
