Head coach (Bobsleigh)

Graham Richardson joined the BBSA as Bobsleigh Head Coach at the start of the Milan Cortina Olympic cycle in October 2022.

Graham heads up coaching responsibilities for the Bobsleigh programme, with a particular on circuit focus on the country’s World Cup crews.

He arrived at the BBSA on the back of three successive medal-winning Olympics with Canada, working as Team Manager and Technical Driving Coach for the most recent cycle.

He boasts over 30 years of experience in the sport and is one of the most well-respected figures on the international circuit.

Graham previously held head coach roles for both the Dutch and Italian teams and also worked for the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation in a development coaching capacity.

A Mechanical Transport Operative in the Royal Air Force for 23 years between 1981 and 2004, Graham completed tours of duty in Germany, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Belize, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kuwait and Iraq and was promoted to Sergeant in 2002.

He was RAF Bobsleigh Champion on four occasions and competed for Great Britain as a driver at World and European Championships.

After serving as Equipment Manager for the RAF team, Graham moved on to become the GB Development Coach and Manager from 1999 to 2004, also acting as Assistant Ice Coach at the Olympic Winter Games in 2002.

He is a qualified IBSF jury member.
