Ian Richardson joined the Board of the BBSA in September 2019 with a wealth of winter sports experience behind him, having been involved with bobsleigh in particular for more than 25 years.
Ian previously served on the Board of British Bobsleigh and has also been a central figure within the BBSA’S Membership Association for the past four years.
A regular jury member on the International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation (IBSF) circuits, Ian also continues to play a significant role within the promotion and organisation of para and youth bobsleigh at both a national and international level.
He represented the BBSA at the IBSF Congress in Prague in the summer of 2019 and is also a member of the Organising Committee for the European Seniors bobsleigh races held in Igls at the end of each season.
Having served in the RAF for 24 years, Ian then worked in defence procurement, both as an independent contractor and a Ministry of Defence civil servant project manager.
